NCID Postdoctoral Fellowship Program:  Eligibility and Appointments

Eligibility   Applicants must hold or receive a Ph.D. from an accredited university prior to the start date of the fellowship. Applicants should expect to have earned their Ph.D. degree by July 30th of the year for which they are applying.

Appointments   The National Center for Institutional Diversity awards two postdoctoral fellowships annually, including a salary of $50,000 and health insurance.  Each award is for a 12-month period, generally beginning September 1.  Start dates may be negotiable at the discretion of NCID’s Director.   

Expectations   NCID Diversity Postdoctoral Fellows are expected to (1) establish residence at U-M for the year of their appointment, (2) focus full-time on research and generally avoid other commitments such as teaching, (3) meet regularly with their faculty mentors, (4) participate in NCID initiatives and activities of relevance to their scholarship.
